Product FAQs

Most fiber supplements exist to do one thing: help you go number two. I built Löta to do more — real, minimally processed ingredients instead of an isolated, chemically processed fiber like soluble corn fiber, so you get the polyphenols too, not just the fiber. Want the deeper science behind why that matters? [See the Science page →]
-
I recommend a minimum of 5 days a week. Here's why not every single day: I believe variety wins, and I hope you're getting fiber from other real food sources too like beans, lentils, whole grains, oats. Löta is here to close the gap, not replace real food altogether.
-
Every ingredient in Löta is 100% organic and chosen for a reason:
- Organic whole psyllium husks — the backbone of this blend. Psyllium comes from the seed husk of the Plantago plant and is one of the most well-researched soluble fibers out there. It forms a gentle gel as it moves through your gut, which helps bulk things up and supports healthy LDL cholesterol.
- Organic apple pomace (skin + core) — upcycled from the juicing industry, rich in pectin and prebiotic fiber.
- Organic chia seeds — insoluble fiber with omega-3s, supports healthy transit.
- Organic grape pomace (skins) — upcycled, loaded with polyphenols that feed your gut bacteria.
- Organic flaxseeds — soluble and insoluble fiber, supports cholesterol and blood sugar balance.
- Organic blueberry pomace (skins) — upcycled, polyphenol-rich, anti-inflammatory support.
- Organic carrots — soluble, pectin-rich, gently fermentable.
- Organic spinach — mineral-rich prebiotic fiber.
-
Yes. Löta Real Food Fiber is a prebiotic fiber, and it's both soluble and insoluble - a combination most single fibers don't offer. It's also polyphenol-rich, which is rarer still. Want the full biology behind what that actually does for your gut? [See the Science page →]

My psyllium, chia, and flax come from organic growers, and my fruit and veggies skins - apple, grape, blueberry pomace, carrots and spinach - are upcycled from the organic juicing industry, where they'd otherwise go to waste.
-
Stir it into oatmeal or chia pudding. Sprinkle it on yogurt or applesauce. Blend it into a smoothie. Top a salad or avocado toast with it. Add a couple tablespoons to your favorite muffin or pancake recipe. Get creative with it - and if you come up with a new way to use it, I'd genuinely love to hear about it.
-
Yes. The skins are steam-sterilized before they become part of your fiber, so you get all the benefit of real food fiber that would otherwise go to waste.
-
No — and that's on purpose. If a fiber supplement disappears completely into a glass of water, ask yourself what it actually is. Löta is real food, so it looks and feels like real food. You'll see the texture. That's the whole point.
-
I'm so glad you asked - making great-tasting products is my job. It's slightly sweet, a little apple-like, but overall pretty neutral. It won't take over whatever you're adding it to.
-
- Great question! It's intentional. Less plastic, less waste. I designed Löta to be measured with a regular tablespoon: 1 tablespoon = 5 grams of fiber, 2 tablespoons = 10 grams. No extra scoop cluttering your kitchen drawer, no extra plastic in the world.
-
Most fiber supplements use inulin (chicory root fiber) because it's cheap and invisible - but it ferments fast, which is exactly what causes gas and bloating. Löta ferments slower and gentler, on purpose. That said, any increase in fiber can cause temporary adjustment if you add too much too fast - see the ramp-up guidance below.
-
- A full serving - 2 tablespoons - gives you 10g of real food fiber from 8 organic ingredients. 1 tablespoon gives you 5g of fiber.
-
- Start with 1 tablespoon a day for the first week, working up to 2 tablespoons as your gut adjusts. Increase slowly, and drink at least 8oz of water with every serving. Going too fast and not drinking enough water are the two most common reasons people feel off when starting any new fiber. (See Science page for more)
-
Yes - Löta is naturally free from gluten, though it's not currently gluten-certified.
-
Löta was built with exactly this in mind - I developed it after seeing what real food fiber and polyphenols can do for gut inflammation. Many people managing IBS or IBD do well starting slow, at half the standard serving, and paying close attention to hydration. That said, everyone's condition is different, so please check with your doctor before adding any new fiber to your routine.

I test every batch of Löta Real Food Fiber for heavy metals and glyphosate residue, and our lead levels come back well below FDA safety limits, every time. So why the warning at all? Because California law requires it. If you're shopping from California, you'll see a Prop 65 warning on any product with trace amounts of over 1,000 listed substances, including lead, even when that amount is completely natural and sits well under FDA limits. I don't add lead to anything, ever - fruits, vegetables, and seeds pull trace minerals from the soil they grow in, and that's true of virtually every whole food you'll ever eat, organic or not.
This warning is a California disclosure requirement, not a safety recall. If you'd like to see the testing results for yourself, email me directly at jessica@lotaguthealth.com and I'll send them over.

Store it somewhere cool and dry, and keep it sealed well after opening. It'll last over a year — though I'm hoping you'll use it a lot faster than that!
